In the last few years we have all seen the rise of internet sites like ebay, facebook and twitter. These sites will help you find and buy things from someone in another country, keep in touch with friends on the other side of the planet and know what people you will never meet are doing next week.

But NONE of them are set up to let YOU do those things EASILY with the family that lives 5 doors away on YOUR street or the people in the department on the 3rd floor at YOUR office.

That is where C-SHARE comes in. We are trying to help people enjoy and benefit from the communities they live, work and socialise in. This is where you will really make friends and gain from those friendships. The initial concept of the site is a place where people in a community can advertise items and services they are happy to share with others in that community or group. Because the groups are aimed at being 'geographically localised', like your street or workplace, you will naturally increase your personal interaction with others in your group.

Using C-SHARE is easy. First you create your account and add any items or services you are happy to share. Then you can join an existing group or start a new one and invite others to join. Share your items with a group and only the other members of that group will see them. You in turn will be able to see all the items shared by everyone else in the group.

The website has a built in messaging system for contacting others in your groups and you can even set it to forward messages you receive to you at your chosen email account. As you would expect, you get to decide what information of yours is visible to others. Just like in real life, you can be a member of several groups at once. The key to maximising the benefits is in keeping the groups at a size that all the members are comfortable with.
